Pinterest Just Made It Easier to Save Pins on Desktop

Pinterest introduced a tweak to speed up the process of saving Pins on desktop.
Rather than taking three clicks—clicking the save button, picking a board and clicking the save button again—users can now click once to access a drop-down menu enabling them to save Pins in search, their home feeds or their following tabs.

Pinterest said the drop-down menu will also predict which boards users might want to save Pins to.

Instagram Stories has twice as many daily users as Snapchat's service — and it now has background music

Instagram Stories now has double the number of daily active users as competitor Snapchat, according to Instagram.

The Stories feature, which allows users to share ephemeral photos with their followers, is up to 400 million daily users, Instagram said on Thursday. Snapchat pioneered the photo stories model and reported 191 million daily active users for the first quarter of 2018, according to Snap's most recent quarterly report.

Instagram has been building up its Stories product with new features and functions in an effort to drive engagement with younger social media users. Last week, the Facebook-owned company introduced IGTV, a long-form video feature designed to keep users in the app longer, and announced its broader platform has surpassed one billion monthly active accounts.
The newest update will let users add background music to their Stories.

The Soundtrack feature, previously reported by TechCrunch, will roll out first to iOS users in the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and Sweden. Instagram said a global roll-out would follow "in the future."

Users can snap a photo in the app, tap the new music sticker in the folder of editing add-ons and search for a song to play in the background. Friends who tap into the story will hear the song from the exact point the poster cued up.

Instagram will offer a library of "thousands of songs," the company said, likely bolstered by Facebook's recent licensing deals with music labels.

How To Earn Money With Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing can be an excellent way to make money online. There are numerous free affiliate programs anyone can join. Some of the more popular affiliate marketing programs you have probably heard of are Clickbank, Amazon, and AdSense. While, these programs are well known there are various programs for almost any product or website. Earning money with affiliate marketing is not easy, but with the right time, dedication, and energy you can develop an income from being an affiliate.

It is a good choice to run an affiliate marketing campaign or a combination of different affiliate marketing campaigns on a blog or multiple blogs. You sign up with an affiliate marketing program that suits your needs, interests, and looks like it would be profitable. Then, place several of their ads on your blog.

Develop and create unique and original content for your blog in the form of articles that cover the area of your affiliate marketing niche. Post as often as you can and build up your social network so that you will have plenty of outlets for your blog and it's message. Create a multi-level strategy for reaching people with your blog. Print out business cards to notify people in the real world of your blog.

Make sure to offer valuable information and resources on your blog that will attract visitors. An excellent tool for keeping visitors interested in your blog is to offer a regular rotating line up of free ebooks based on subjects you cover on your blog.

Build up an email list with a free email sign up tool placed on your blog. Whenever you have a new freebie coming out you can send out notifications to your email contacts. Creating a heavy traffic flow to your blog is crucial to your affiliate marketing plan. Promote the products on your blog with passion and detailed information that prompts and answers any questions a visitor might have about the products.

Twitter and Facebook are really effective tools for getting your message out to prospective blog visitors. Make sure to include regular posts and tweets with information about your blog in your online affiliate marketing plan. Generate daily original content for your blog to ensure a steady flow of traffic. Filling your articles with keywords that relate to your affiliate marketing will attract visitors that are interested in the information. These visitors are doing searches for the very keywords and content you are blogging about in your affiliate marketing campaign. This creates qualified traffic. Qualified traffic means these visitors are interested in this niche and will likely buy the product, click on an ad, and spend a good amount of time perusing your blog for the information.

You can earn money with affiliate marketing. Like anything else, it takes time, focus, and dedication. If you concentrate on putting as much energy as you can into your affiliate marketing plan you are sure to earn an income, but it may take some time when you initially put your affiliate marketing plan into action.

How I Built 7 Multiple Streams Of Income

[That Make Me Money EVERY Single Month]

How Chatbots Can Improve Customer Experience

At this point, the question is not so much “to chatbot or not to chatbot” as it is “what will the chatbot do?” and “who will build it?” and “on what channel, for what purpose?”. As the prevalence of AI increases in social media spaces, digital marketers from every industry, regardless of whether they plan to have a chatbot now or in the future, must eventually answer these questions for their brand. Recently at Spredfast, we took a dive into bots ourselves.

On May 23, we sponsored an Adweek webinar titled, “Can Chatbots Provide a Great Customer Experience? How Top Brands Automate Social Service Practices.” The webinar, hosted by Adweek’s publishing director Stuart Feil, featured leaders in the chatbot space from Booking.com, General Motors, and Spredfast—these experts shared what they’re doing to automate their social customer service and customer care. We’ve rounded up three salient takeaways regarding what you need to know about chatbots today.

How to Understand the Current State of Chatbots

Kevin Morris, SVP of Product at Spredfast, shared his thoughts on the current state of chatbots. The AI environment is still pretty murky, Morris explained, but things are starting to come into focus. We have a better understanding of the realities of AI and chatbots than we did even last year, he said. As early as last year, digital marketers were wondering whether or not we were on the verge of customer care becoming completely automated, and whether or not that prospect was a good one. But it’s clear now, Morris said, that chatbots and humans will interact together for bot cost deflection—and to create great customer experiences. Here’s where we are today regarding AI capabilities for social customer care:

Today, marketers must ask where we want to plug in these new automated capabilities to existing workflows, and, importantly, where humans will still come into the equation. Ongoing human interaction is still a focus as chatbots today mainly perform three tasks: resolving the simple, assisting the agent, and inspiring the customer. Here’s what each of these tasks looks like:

  • Resolving the simple: Chatbots can automate FAQs to free up agents to answer questions that are more subjective.
  • Assisting the agent: Chatbots can also make agents more effective as they answer customer questions by capturing required data (email, phone number, order number, etc). Agent-facing chatbots can make interactions more effective by recommending content to agents (suggested responses based on context, suggested offers, and more), and they can resolve simple tasks, like this example:

  • Inspiring the customer: Finally, chatbots can create unique customer experiences (one-off marketing promotions, making recommendations, and more) that inspire brand interaction.
Humans are still your brand’s most valuable assets, Morris said. When your chatbot hits a limit in their customer interaction—which they will—Spredfast can make the transition from chatbot to agent as seamless as possible. Read more on our newly announced chatbot capabilities and partnerships alike.

How to Tell If Your Brand Needs a Chatbot

Brennen Buckner, a Lead Product Manager on Booking.com (a leading travel site) heads up the team that’s building the brain behind Booking.com’s Facebook chatbot, as well as all of the site’s conversational interfaces.

Now that we have a better idea of what chatbots can do, we can ask the question of whether a chatbot makes sense for your business, Buckner explained. There’s a lot of opportunity in chatbots for your partners as well as for your customers, he added:

Essentially, Buckner said, whenever time is cut for your business or your partner, you have value from your bot. Chatbots can help you build your brand by aiding with visibility and scaling—they can get positive interactions to more customers. But chatbots cannot improve an already poor customer interaction, Buckner noted. They can only further and improve what the humans are already doing well, so be sure you have a solid customer care plan in place before launching a bot.

How to Tell if Your Customer Wants a Chatbot

Rebecca Harris is the Global Head, Social Center of Expertise at General Motors, a group she helped implement several years ago. Harris shared GM’s perspective on whether or not customers want chatbots. She explained that GM now has two out of three customers requesting that their issues be resolved on social, which is essentially a request for a chatbot, even if the customer doesn’t realize it. In fact, Harris said, the majority of their customers really want all of their problems to be solved via Twitter. Though GM isn’t ready for that reality quite yet, chatbots are helping them to meet customer demand for resolution of issues via social.

Buckner seconded Harris’s perspective. He said that even when customers aren’t explicitly demanding a chatbot, one could still help your customer care experience. If people are expecting outcomes from social channels, chatbots could help. For example, if people are Tweeting your brand asking repeated simple requests, like questions about deals, that’s a good sign that a chatbot could aid your care efforts, Buckner continued.

How to Start an Affiliate Business: First Steps

How to Start an Affiliate Business: First Steps

Do you want to know how can you build a successful online business? You only need two things: focus and perseverance. Focus, because staring anything new is overwhelming by itself. Soon you realize you need a content strategy, social media accounts, an email service, an SEO strategy and lots more. If you lose focus, you lose everything. Perseverance, because this will be a long, long journey. If quitting is an option, you probably shouldn’t start at all. If you’re ready to build something amazing and long-lasting, this guide will take you through the process of getting started step-by-step.
Before you start, every great tutorial should start with a list of what you need. The things we believe you need are:
  • To-Do List: In the Information Age, distractions are not something we can completely avoid, but we can learn how to deal with them as they come. Next time you sit down to work, have a notebook for any ideas or thoughts. Mark them as they come and continue working on your business. I personally use Google Keep for its simplicity.
  • Calendar: A calendar will help you stay on course. Whether you are scheduling your website content, or go through your distraction list, you should have a place where all your Must-dos are on a single page. Remember to leave some room to maneuver your tasks. You know, in case that little thing called Life changes your daily plans. Google Calendar is the best-known calendar.

1. Essential Components of Starting an Affiliate Marketing Business

There are many factors involved in learning how to build an online business. Here are some of the crucial ones:
It’s not bad advice. You’ve probably heard it before as many other beginner affiliates. But, alone, it doesn’t actually help you get started, does it? That’s why the rest of this guide will focus on affiliate business essentials: planning, building a website and writing content. Taking control of these will help you schedule the rest for later.
1a. Building Your Affiliate Business: Planning
As I said, essentials. Don’t stress over coming up with the next billion-dollar niche, don’t look at what everybody is doing, just answer me two questions:
  • What do you want to create content about?
  • What problem in that area can you solve? What do you want to create content about?
What’s the first thing that pops into your head? It can be anything. People online earn from showing exercise routines, explaining football tactics, fixing stuff, playing video games (new and old), talking about relationships, rare skin diseases and everything in between. I once stumbled across a YouTube channel with millions of views showing nothing but hours of burning fireplace videos. So, let your mind go wild.
Action Point:
  • Set a timer on your phone for 5 minutes
  • Brainstorm 3 topics you love
  • Go to findaforum.net, or reddit.com, and find a like-minded community (if there’s an audience, there are buyers).
1b. What problem in that area can you solve?
Here’s one piece of advice that in the long-run will help your business grow the most: focus on solving problems, not selling products. Sales will come naturally. Focus on solving problems, not selling products. Sales will come naturally.
To find out what are the common problems in your niche, use a search engine. Enter site:, URL of the niche community and some relative keywords.
Action Point:
  • Go to a forum keyword finder
  • Add keywords or even simple verbs that are closely related to problem solving, like ‘fix’, ‘how to’, ‘problem’. In a couple of minutes you’ll start to see a pattern.
  • As soon as you do, narrow the keywords a bit and write down 3 problems you can solve (or would like to solve).

2. Building Your Affiliate Business: Setting Up

Building your affiliate marketing business
Building your affiliate marketing business
We have talked about creating a website numerous times on Online Affiliate World. That’s why I won’t get into a lot of detail on it in this guide. But if you want to know more about creating a website, check out our Wix vs WordPress comparison.
It’s essential that you don’t get stuck on searching for a perfect brand name. There is no need to stress. Firstly, your content is much more important. And, even if you later come up with a better name, you can later rebrand. You may not know this, but OnlineAffiliateWorld was once PokerAffiliateWorld. Our rebrand the name helped us grow, and reposition ourselves within a changing affiliate marketplace.
Action Point:
  • Visit GoDaddy.com or another domain provider like radicenter.ee, and try out a few domain names
  • (Optional) Ask your friends and family to help you pick the best one
  • Go to Wix.com and pick out a plan. You will have a website in minutes and be able to start working on your website content.

3. Building Your Affiliate Business: Content Creation

Affiliate marketing content creation
Affiliate marketing content creation
In this part, I will help you create some content to get your website ready to drive traffic to. You don’t need a year’s worth of content, just a few articles for someone to read and share.
If you don’t feel confident creating content, you can leave it to freelancers on Fiverr or Upwork. Still, brainstorming content ideas will help you figure out the direction in which you want your website to go.
Come back to the list of problems in your niche. Now, all you need is to come up with solutions. Here a few ideas:
  • 9 Ways to [niche problem]
  • Are you tired of [niche problem]? Here’s how you can fix it.
  • Why [niche solution] will stop you [problem]
  • In-depth guide to [problem] the right way.
  • New research: [niche problem] solved!
Go back to your community forum. See whether these problems have been solved.
If they HAVE, mark the solutions. Are they helpful? Is there another way you can look at it? Research is really important. If all you do, is repeat what others have said, people won’t be thrilled to read your content.
If they HAVEN’T, you have found a gold mine. Help them and they will flock to your website, trust you, interact and share your content.

4. Maintaining Your Affiliate Business

Maintaining your affiliate business
Maintaining your affiliate business
Hey, great news! If you followed through, you have just launched your affiliate business. But there’s still a lot of to be done. I don’t want you to lose focus, so here’s a plan for the next few days to keep you on course.
Day 1 (Today)
If you can, try to find time to write at least 300 words on your first article. You launched your business, you’re excited. Use the momentum you have created to get more done.
Day 2
Plan your website. Write down 3 things about what you want it to grow into and plan the way to reach it. Perhaps you will need an ‘About Me’ page? Also, write 200 words of content.
Day 3
Go to your OnlineAffiliateWorld affiliate dashboard and pick a few programs you can promote. Get tracking URL’s and banner ads. Write 400 words of content.
Day 4
Find 3-4 websites that are in your niche. What do they talk about? What channels do they use to distribute content? Write 500 words of content.
Day 5
Create social profiles for your website. You can use the same that your competitors use. But not more than 3. Remember, you will need time to manage it. Write 500 words of content.
Day 6
If you already have some content to share, do it. Ask your friends to share it, too. Create a Google Analytics account.
From the moment you start sharing your content, make sure to regularly (at least once a week) produce great content. We haven’t talked here about keywords, paid ads, networking and similar stuff for a reason. Focus and perseverance. Remember?
If you want your website to grow, focus on content. That’s all. The time for other things will come. We hope this guide was helpful but if there is anything you want to ask, don’t hesitate to contact us.
